Ben Mazaya is the founder of Mazaya Studios: pro bono builds for grassroots work, paid apps for clients, one studio in Calgary, Canada.

The studio runs two divisions: Impact builds tools pro bono for grassroots work, unpaid or sliding-scale, with vegan and animal-liberation projects scoring highest; Client is the paid work, described on Services.

Both divisions move through lanes: isolated work branches driven by autonomous Claude Code sessions, each landing through a script that refuses to merge on a red gate.

The rule behind it is the enforcement ladder: a behaviour is only as reliable as its enforcement, so anything non-negotiable becomes a hook or a CI gate rather than a paragraph in a document.

Specs come before code. No component CSS without a written visual spec; no architectural choice without a numbered, append-only decision entry recording the why.
